Travel Planning Tips for Taking a Cruise
When it comes to going on a cruise it is important to ensure that you take all your important information with you as well as all of your necessary times otherwise you will be suffering when you are out to sea! So, consider these travel planning tips before you head off on your cruise and you will more than likely have the time of your life! First of all, you want to make sure you have the best luggage to take with you and that would of course be Samsonite luggage. When you have outstanding luggage you wont be concerned with the zippers breaking and all your clothes falling out or anything of the sort. That is a relief in itself and you will know that your clothes and personal effects are all packed away in a safe piece of luggage. Some things you might want to pack in your Samsonite spinner include Dramamine in case you get sea sick and many people do on cruises. That is especially so if there is a bad storm. Dont forget to pack several different levels of sunscreen either. When you are on the boat you will realize that the sun is reflecting off the water and you can get burnt easier. Be sure you pack plenty of swimsuits as well because it will be easier to just put on a new suit than wash the same one out time and time again. Sunglasses and/or a hat are also incredibly important especially if you have sensitive eyes. Dont forget your passport or birth certificate either or you wont ever make it on the cruise! Once you are packed you will be all ready to go. However, you should go over some last minute details to determine if there is anything else you need. Check the forecasted weather for the week in the destinations you will be heading to. This can give you some much needed information regarding what else to pack. Perhaps a rain coat for storms, binoculars for whale watching, or perhaps your snorkel. Knowing the weather will help you decide what kind of activities to plan and pack for. You may be an excellent trip planner and you may not be. However, the tips offered here are great reminders that will help you plan and pack for your cruise. Caitlina Fuller is a freelance writer. European Airlines: Choice Is King
Airline passenger travel within Europe has increased sharply over the past decade as the introduction of new airlines has helped push prices down significantly. Couple that with the formation of the European Union and the airline market within Europe has never been so robust. If you are planning to travel to the European continent you now have an affordable alternative to the train. Fares are low, specials are run at any given time; check directly with each carrier to determine who has the best deals for you. The following airlines are currently flying to destinations within Europe; some are also conducting global operations: Adria Airways Aer Lingus AerArann Aeroflot - Russian International Airlines Air France Alitalia Austrian Belavia Belarusian Airlines bmi British Midland bmiBaby British Airways Centralwings Corsair Croatia Airlines easyJet Eurofly Finnair Flybe Flyglobespan Futura International Airways German Wings Hapag-Lloyd Express Iberia Iceland Express Icelandair Jet2 KLM Lauda Air LOT Polish Airlines LTU Lufthansa Macedonian Airlines MyTravel Lite Ryanair SAS Braathens Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) Sky Europe SN Brussels Airlines Spanair Swiss International Airlines Transwede Virgin Atlantic Virgin Express Vueling Wizz Air Some carriers, such as Transwede, currently fly only within one country, while other carriers fly within certain areas of Europe. For example, Wizz Air and Centralwings cover central Europe. National carriers including Lufthansa, British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Iberia all offer extensive international service. Thus, you may be able to board a European carrier at a US gateway and receive low fares throughout your trip. My Love of Firework Shows
Fourth of July, celebrations, fun, good food, and the very sweet icing on the cake, firework shows. I grew up in a town that was full of patriotic spirit. The fourth of July was definitely not just another day. The town was transformed, and everyone came out to play. The festivities started at the park in the center of town. Game booths were scattered amongst the smells of barbecued kabobs, tri tip sandwiches, corn on the cob, and cotton candy. The park was a sea of people dressed in red white and blue and waving the all important flag with a vigor that seemed to only occur on that one day of the year. From the distance, a piccolo chimes and the band starts marching in. This is not your ordinary band, but one full of my family members. My dad is the director, and my older brothers and sister have played in it for as long as I can remember. I was the little kid walking beside the band, waving my flag with as much pride as I could muster and cheering until I couldn't cheer any more. The band marched to the bandstand, and then the concert began. One Sousa march after another, and every patriotic masterpiece that you can't go the day without hearing at least once were played and directed with pride. This was just the beginning of the day, and already packed with more 4th of July tradition and spirit than some towns see in a lifetime. On to the stadium!! The anticipation of seeing the fireworks show was half the fun. The evening in the stadium started with a picnic of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Then the band played again just in time for the fly-over. The low rumble of the stadium and the complete disappearance of every other sound gave a sense of pride like no other. This is where we live, and yes we are being protected. Then the music started again, and in come the skydivers. This only meant one thing; the fireworks are coming soon, very soon. We always got front row seats on the field, a spot always reserved for the 4th of July Band. The fireworks were so close I felt I could touch them. The sun started to go down and the anticipation grew as music played in the background. We waited for the countdown to begin. The lights go off, and the firework show began! All choreographed to music, the story started, and the display was always more fantastic than the year before. Even as a kid, it brought tears to my eyes. How at that very moment could you not feel proud to live in the good old US of A? This is where my love of firework shows comes from. There will never be a better fireworks show than the one in Redlands. It will always hold a special place in my heart for its fabulous 4th of July celebration and the icing on the cake, the glorious fireworks show! Mske Sure you visit Redlands, CA if you want to see a beautiful firework show. It is in the stadium at the beautiful campus of University of Redlands. Get there early and sit on the grass for an awesome experience. Bring your family, a blanket, and a picnic, and a lot of spirit. I assure you that you will have a great time. Because of my love of firework shows, I have started a website to make sure everyone can have that same sense of wonder and pride when they see a fireworks show on the 4th of July. My website is http://www.usfireworkshows.com Please check it out and shoot me an e-mail if you know of any firework shows that I have yet to list. Have a wonderful 4th of July!!
Texas Mobile Home Insurance Information
Texas mobile home insurance is available from several good companies. The cost depends on many factors. Listed below is a quote that I did for a single wide home north of Houston in a park. - $40,000 Dwelling coverage with $950 deductible
- $1,000 other structures
- $16,000 Personal Property
- $100,000 Personal Liability
- $1,000 Medical Payments To Others
This policy was $562 per year. Most policies cover fire, theft, windstorm, hail, explosion, falling objects, and bursting of water pipes. Liability coverage may be optional or included in a package. Some policies will offer options for the amount of deductible, replacement cost for personal property, jewelry coverage, firearm coverage, and other options. Because all policies are not alike it is not always best to just get the least expensive policy. Ask you agent to explain the coverage options and consider what you are getting for what you are paying. Here are some suggestions for getting a good policy: Be sure to get a high enough limit for the dwelling, consider what a new home would cost at today's prices if your home was destroyed. Get personal property coverage with a high enough limit and ask for replacement cost valuation. I suggest $100,000 in liability coverage or greater. This is inexpensive. On the quote example the client paid $5 per year to increase from $50,000 to $100,000. If a package is available it will probably be a better value. Remember that flood is not included and consider a separate policy for that. Deal with an experienced agent and have everything explained. Travel Tips - Preparing for Airport Security Will Get You a Long Way
Going on a vacation is definitely not what is used to be. I remember, before the days of heightened airport security, when my friends and family could walk me all the way to the gate before I boarded my flight. Of course things have drastically changed. Now, neither you nor your family (or your bottled water for that matter) can move past the security checkpoint without the proper identification, x-rays, dental checks, eye scans - okay, I'm exaggerating - but you get the idea. The pressure of travel is just as hazardous as any chemicals you might bring on board with you. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I'm happy that some precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of the innocent flight-sitters on board who wanted to do nothing more than visit their Aunt Tilda in Wisconsin. I can't stress enough gratitude for the feeling of safety I receive during each flight. But at the same time, if you're not ready for the number of security measures that are set in place to ensure the safe flight, you can easily become overwhelmed. This happened to me the last time I flew to Atlanta. It had been around a year since I'd flown anywhere when I took this trip, and I was more than excited for the opportunity to get out of town. However, when I rolled my one bag that needed to be checked and my two small carry-ons to the check-in counter, I remembered that I had lotion, toothpaste and a bottle of water in my carry-on bag. "Oh Geez!" I thought, as I cautiously moved my bags out of the way of others around me to transfer the "liquids and gels" into the bag I was to check. It was then that I began to panic. "Am I forgetting anything?" "What if they x-ray my bag and find something else?" "What if they want to do a thorough search and I miss my flight?" There were so many "what-ifs" running through my mind that I could barely remember where my ID was as I approached the kiosk to pull my ticket. Luckily, the check-in process went rather smoothly and next was my journey to the security checkpoint. There I began my panicking process again with all of my "what-ifs." Again, through a little bit of luck, I managed to get through the process with no problems, but the whole ordeal made the idea of travel seem very unappealing. I promised myself the next time I were to travel anywhere I would be prepared. And that is exactly what I did. The following week, I had a surprise trip to Washington D.C. and as I prepared for travel, I made sure to know where my ID was, which bags to back my liquids and gels in, and even printed my boarding pass at home. It made my life so much easier. I know it can seem like a bit of work to do the extra planning at home. But if you want to avoid the pressure-filled hustle and bustle that travel can bring with airport security, then it is my suggestion that you do the preparations from home to avoid any confusion during crunch time. Pass For New York Travel - A Genuine Ticket Or Scam?
The concept of city pass might be unbelievable for many. A pass that lets you travel to 40 places in New York; a ticket that is available without standing in queues; something that is giving you close to 70 % discount for roaming around places that otherwise cost nothing less than $20 each; it might be a too good to be true thought that is coming first to your mind when you hear that a single pass can offer you all the benefits along with discounts such as quarter price off at Broadway tickets, Macy's and more. Most of us just happen to think that it is yet another cheat that you will face while you are on your trip to New York. And thinking like that is actually possible considering the kind of lucrative offers city pass brings to you and that too, on no condition. But to your surprise, the NY city pass is not a scam in the tourism industry, though it may seem. All you need is to pay at the time of activation of the pass before entering the city. This is just like a credit card and the validity is at your discretion. It could be 1-7 days; whatever you please. And this is the only time when you are paying. What follows is the tension-free travel within the New York City. The charges vary according to the package you select. But one thing is guaranteed that the amount you pay here in buying a city pass is much lesser than the money you might have spent if you were travelling to those places separately. Those who have been to NY before must be aware of the fact that the tourists are only allowed in few modes of transport. But with a city pass in your hand, you get the priority and at the same time, the city's public transport services are promoted. So this way it becomes possible for them to allow such discounts on the passes given to you. Coming on to the locations which you can visit, the issuers of the pass have set the whole plan per day with intelligence. Now the deal is when you go for sight-seeing, it won't be possible for you to cover more than 3-4 places in one day. In case you are able to manage more places which is the case only when you touch and go and that most of the tourists don't do. Now here lies the profit of pass issuers. A city pass can be a saving to you only if you visit at least three places in a day and most of the people end up incapable of meeting this target. Thus, in order to make the pass profitable, you need to fix up your itinerary accordingly. But besides this, the concessions, the favors and the time management that a city pass allows, is worth buying it. The luxurious treatment by the NYC travel in collaboration is yet another pleasure to look forward to. As said, the New York City travel will be enjoyable, easier, and add up value with a city pass and it will be profitable, if you plan out your visits sensibly. Your Best Bet When Dealing with the .Com Travel Industry The best solution is to try some of the various travel websites available, in both the travel search engines and the standard travel websites. Getting In An Out Of Trouble In Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok has proven to be a hugely popular destination for tourists and expatriates for many years now. However occasionally people visit Bangkok and find themselves getting a bit more than they had bargained for and not in the positive sense. Whilst the vast majority of Thais are overwhelmingly friendly and happy, (in fact they are world famous for this) there are of course, as in any country a minority that can and will attempt to take advantage of you. Why would they do so? Well, Thailand is still a developing country and whilst Bangkok is highly developed in many areas it is still a developing country and the mindset of the people occasionally reflects this. Many Thais come to Bangkok from the countryside looking for work and the salaries in Bangkok do not really providea satisfactory level of living, even for qualified individuals. Indeed it is said that even to flip burgers in MacDonald's you need to have been to University, which is often an expense a family can ill afford. The need for money is also exacerbated slightly by the type of family structure that exists whereby once children become adults it is deemed it is now their turn to repay their parents for looking after them during their childhood by providing them with a good standard of living, namely by giving them money. Caring for their parents is often seen as the number one goal for their lives, being more important than anything else! Often the Thai persons drive to provide for their parents is fiercely overwhelming and can on occasion make them do things they would otherwise not do. Again it must be emphasized this is far from the norm, but does these things do happen. These factors of course provide impetus for all sorts of different money making activities. A few common methods for unscrupulous people to extract money from foreigners, ranging from simple rip-offs to intricate scams are as follows: a) Taxi drivers, these can spot a newbie from a mile off, they will gladly take you where you want to go via all the shops that they are given commission at. These are often suit shops, gem shops, massage parlours, gold shops and so on. Also you had better ask for them to switch on the meter or you could end up paying a much higher price than necessary. A aimple rule of thumb, if they refuse to put the meter on, get out of the cab! There will be plenty more. An easy solution to this problem is to walk a block away from the tourist area and you will normally find a taxi driver unused to taking tourists and very happy to turn on the meter (without you asking) and take you wherever you wish, no questions asked. b) Card scams. At some point you maybe approached by a foreigner seemingly quite incidentally. Maybe you are looking at your map and a friendly stranger offers you help. You may then be asked normal everyday questions such as where you are from. Do not be surprised to hear an answer such as 'Really, my sister is due to go and study there next month.' this will open a lead of conversation to get you to meet their sister. Yes this is a real account reported on numerous occasions. If you are suitabley gullible or willing they will very hospitably lead you to a house somewhere in the suburbs where they may offer you food and drink. The sister will probably not appear but another person may do and so the introduction of card games becomes reality whilst awaiting for the sister to arrive. Whilst the story sounds implausible these people do this for a living and are very slick and excellent confidence tricksters. For a tourist caught off their guard by dis-orientation, fatigue, alcohol, excitement or whatever this can lead to considerable loss of money and dangerous situations. Be warned. c) Simply not knowing the prices. Do not buy from the first place you see. You may be offered a bag for 1000 baht and whilst you know you are supposed to negotiate a lower price you settle on 600 thinking you have got a bargain, however wander around the corner and you may only be asked for 300 and be able to get this down to 180 baht. A few words of advice, negotiate with a smile and yes whilst you can get the same price as a local, prices in Bangkok are more based on the ability to pay as opposed what the price is. In their eyes you may be a rich foreigner therefore it is only fair that you pay more than a local. Whatever you do though, do it with a smile, it will go a long way! d) Collecting change. It is common in night clubs in Bangkok for the waiters to be on as little as 3,000-6,000 baht per month (100 pounds sterling or 200 US dollar per month), it is possible for them to just about live on this, however if someone who has had a couple of beers pays for a drink with a thousand baht note and there are a couple of hundred notes missing in the change, don't be surprised! Always check, even ask the name of the person collecting the money beforehand and point out that you are giving them a thousand baht note as opposed to a 100 or 500 baht note at the time of paying. The above are just a few helpful hints on what to look out for. If you should ever find yourself in trouble the tourist police are used to dealing with these type of complaints in their own inimitable way. Furthermore if you did find yourself losing all your money it is possible for a family member to transfer money overseas to you using a money transfer service, these are quick and simple services that can get you out of trouble fast. Having said all this Thai people are fantastic and you will be very unfortunate indeed to encounter the above situations, so relax and enjoy yourself in the Land of Smiles. Travel Insurance - Getting Things Right in The First Place
In this article, we will be studying the meaning of travel quotes followed by the sources of information and the points to be remembered before applying for the travel insurance quotes. A prospective traveller looking for the travel insurance quotes may sight a varying nature attached to them. This is because of the involvement of the administrative costs attached to the travel insurance policy. It is seen that some of the companies offering the holiday insurance quotes waive these administrative costs to become more competitive in nature. However, the policies offered by these companies and others are quite similar in their basic nature and do not have any huge price variations. It is believed that disasters such as the 9/11 Twin Tower attack and Tsunami hurricane highlighted the need for travel insurance. These quotes are offered by the travel insurance agents and a traveller needs to look out for a quote-price that is best suited to his pocket. This is done to ensure the safety and comfort of the involved trip. An insurance company and agent trade a pre-packaged policy while making the holiday insurance quotes. The information for the same can be easily obtained from travel agents or websites. The travel insurance quotes require a prospective traveller to give the details of his trip. After the initial formalities have been completed, the traveller can obtain a quote. If you are looking for the holiday insurance quotes then you can make use of the services of some insurance engines on the World Wide Web that offer and compare numerous quotes from different companies. The payment for the quotes can be easily and safely made with a credit or debit card. However, there are some things that need to be considered before finalising a quote. A prospective traveller must consider the plan exclusions, deductibles, co-insurance or co-payment options, inclusion of a pre-existing health condition, specific exclusions relating to specific sports, authenticity of the quote-maker, covered disasters and restriction, procedure for reimbursement and medical emergency assistance. A careful and thoughtful view must be given to the terms and conditions of the quote before giving the final nod. If a traveller can take care of all these facts and factors relating to travel insurance, he can be easily relieved of any possible damage to life by any unforeseeable disasters and he can enjoy his holidays in a hassle-free manner. Air Travel With Kids - Useful Tips for Family Travelers
Air travel with kids can soon leave you feeling as if you need another vacation. Children hate to be cooped up in aircraft even more than adults do. It's not in their nature to sit still, but the last thing you need is them running around shrieking and disturbing everybody else. What can you do to keep them entertained? Like all difficulties that the family has to face together, air travel with kids is much easier if everyone involved understands the part they have to play. Kids will naturally be excited at the thought of going on a plane, so let them burn off some of that excitement beforehand with activities such as plane spotting and making paper planes. Indulge their curiosity about how planes work and emphasize how important it is for passengers to behave so that the flight crew can do their job. Let your children feel that they're performing a useful role in making the flight happen by being well-behaved. Where possible, let them assist with small tasks, such as moving luggage and finding seats. When the plane takes off, your children will be eager to look out of the window and watch the ground moving away below. Seen from above, cities look like maps. This is a good way to introduce the concept of map making. With paper and colored pens, you can keep your children busy drawing maps of where they live, where they're going on vacation, or fantasy places they would like to visit. Of course, sedentary activities will only hold your children's attention for so long. The biggest difficulty in air travel with kids is the lack of physical outlets for them. One way to get around this is to discuss the importance of stretching during air travel. With kids who are eager to do grown-up things, you should have no difficulty persuading them to try basic stretching exercises, which they can do in their seats. Have them touch their toes or see how high they can reach above their heads. Games that require concentration of the senses, such as identifying objects when blindfolded, can also help to relieve physical tension. When it comes to games, there are many commercial board games designed for air travel with kids. These can be a good choice provided that your children have a genuine interest in them. Carry a small towel that you can spread out underneath the board to catch any stray pieces, as even magnetic and clip-together games may lose small pieces. Air travel with kids doesn't have to be a nightmare. Just make sure your children feel positive about it and let them know how much you appreciate their cooperation. If they are well behaved, they'll deserve a special treat after you touch down, and then everybody will have something to look forward to.
